Sébastien Lemieux

Principal Investigator

IRIC - Université de Montréal

A graduate of the Université de Montréal in microbiology, Sébastien Lemieux turned to bioinformatics in 1997 and completed his master’s and doctorate at the same university. under the direction of François Major. After obtaining his doctorate in 2002, the young researcher headed to the private sector where he did his post-doctoral fellowship at Elitra Canada (now Merck & Co) under Bo Jiang’s guardianship. He then acquires skills in analyzing genomic sequencing data using DNA microarray data, and in integrating experimental data using computers.

He finally joined the ranks of IRIC in 2005. In 2018 he was appointed associate professor in the [department of biochemistry and molecular medicine](https://biochemistry .umontreal.ca/) of the faculty of medicine of the University of Montreal.
